Whether you are a Las Vegas Local or just visiting sin city, there are many weekend trips ranging between 45 minutes to 4 hours most definitely worth your time! Something that we have hoped to accomplish through our blog, is educating others that Las Vegas is much more than The Strip. The Strip is amazing and makes Las Vegas, but it is not up everyone's alley and there are some incredible places to visit nearby if you can spare the time. We use our Las Vegas page to share our experiences both on and off The Strip and we hope this post further explains why we love the convenience of our home and all the beauty that surrounds us. So with that being said... here are our top 5 favorite day trips from Las Vegas!
#1. LOS ANGELES- 3.5 hour drive
This could definitely be a day trip to the beach for the adventurous, but it makes for an even better weekend getaway. Being 3.5 hours away it is much more worth it to rent a bnb and enjoy a full weekend exploring the city. Some of our favorite weekend memories were made in L.A including our lunch date at the Santa Monica Pier, shopping the day away on Rodeo Drive, soaking up the sun on Venice Beach and eating one of the best dinners at Geoffrey's in Malibu.

#2. ZION NATIONAL PARK- 2.5 hours
Zion is definitely worth the day trip. Only about 2.5 hours from Las Vegas you can spend the entire day hiking, bicycling, or climbing. Sometimes we don't leave our house until 11 A.M and still have plenty of time to enjoy our hike of the day. On the way back home be sure to stop at one of the street side cafes for dinner and enjoy a sunset view on the patios.

#3. GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK- 2.5-4 hours
There are several different overlooks and ways to experience The Grand Canyon so depending on the adventure you pick the driving time will vary. The drive time will range from 2.5-4 hours or if you chose to do a helicopter tour the time will obviously be significantly shorter. Horseshoe bend is one of the most iconic overlooks and picture spots at the Grand Canyon and is about a 4 hour drive from the city. Some of the Grand Canyon experiences include hiking down to waterfalls, horseback riding, a glass bottom trail over the edge, a helicopter tour, and ATV or rafting tours.

#4. MT. CHARLESTON
We discovered Mt. Charleston last summer when Las Vegas was nearly 115 degrees and we needed an escape. Only 45 min. from the strip you can enjoy fresh, cool air in the summer accompanied by beautiful hikes or snow ball fights and ski lifts in the Winter. Mt. Charleston is such a peaceful way to spend the day away from the city or a long weekend as they provide lodging.

#5. SAN DIEGO- 4 hours
Another beach trip, but a little bit more low-key than L.A. Some of our favorite beaches are in San Diego. In general it is a very dog friendly city so we like to bring our pups along on these trips. Along with the beach we love spending our mornings strolling Balboa park and our evenings eating dinner downtown.
